We are a locally owned third generation family business that has an immediate opening for a Controller.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Recording and reconciling contract work quantities completed - Collaborating with internal leadership to ensure proper billing and payment - Work with project owners and engineers to resolve billing and payment discrepancies - Processing contract pay estimates - Calculating and scheduling subcontractor payments - Closing out contracts upon completion of work - Preparation of monthly work in process schedule - Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements and year end audit - Report directly to, and assist, the CFO with a variety of tasks as needed Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting - Prior experience in construction or a strong interest in highway heavy construction - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills - Competent in the Microsoft Office suite of software - Previous experience, or confident in ability to learn, construction specific accounting software - Be self-motivated with a desire to learn and advance
